Start your trip with a day fly fishing on the upper Jackson River. This stretch of river offers excellent fishing for stocked trout, both brown and rainbow. Catch a trophy fish before gathering around a campfire under the stars. Bring your significant other for that long weekend away for private dining and quiet time. Further down Route 220 fish the a separate stretch your second day on the special regulations section of Hidden Valley near the border of Highland and Bath Counties. Miles of stream here receive little pressure and every tributary is a wild trout stream.
Fish the river for larger trout, or walk up a small stream for a native brook trout. This is a great place to take in the surrounding mountains of Virginia. Enjoy another custom dinner per your request to round the day out. Your final day can be either a float trip on the fabled Jackson River trophy trout section, or a stop on the way back east to another stretch on private property. Either way, rainbows and brown trout are the target to finish out the weekend.
