Fly Fishing the Shenandoah River, Smallmouth Bass Guided Trips
Enjoy the summertime on the the Shenandoah River. When warmer temperatures hit the Shenandoah Valley and water levels drop we anglers often put away our native brook trout dry flies and head to the river. Smallmouth bass, or "smallies" provide action-packed excitement as we guide you down one of Virginia's best bass fishing opportunities.
Our guide service floats the south fork of the Shenandoah River and some of it's smallmouth river tributaries in search of these amazing fighters. Watch large carp swim by as we fly fish the day away throwing poppers, streamers, and crayfish patterns. Typically fish are in the 10-15" range with the goal of landing a 20"er. Sunfish, largemouth bass, and the occasional musky also inhabit this fishery. Join Middle River Outfitters on a raft as one of our fly fishing guides takes you on a float fishing trip on one of Augusta County's beautiful rivers.

If you want to get away and cast a line with us we'll provide all the necessary gear for smallmouth bass fishing. You will need a valid Virginia freshwater fishing license from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fishes. Our river trips are full day guided fly fishing trips. We are happy to work with traditional tackle, but fly-fishing is our specialty. Though we float, we also wade several riffles along the river, allowing for stretch breaks and lunch.
Starting at $450 for 2 people with lunch and equipment included
